Artist

Jayden Plank

Having recently completed a Masters in Fine Arts at Elam, I am a contemporary painter originally from Invercargill, now residing and working in the vibrant city of Auckland, New Zealand. The city's rich diversity and energetic atmosphere serve as a wellspring of inspiration for my art.

Although I am still in the early stages of my career, I am proud to have some of my works featured in the esteemed Sir James Wallace collection. My artistic endeavours revolve around exploring the convergence of the past, present, and future. Through my creations, I aim to convey a positive energy that not only uplifts the spirit but also encourages viewers to pause and reflect on the direction and possibilities of the artwork. I want them to ponder, "Where will this artistic journey take me?"

In my artistic practice, I employ a wide range of materials, which allows me to craft a distinctive organic abstract style, often characterised by psychedelic patterns. These patterns come alive with the infusion of vibrant, candy-coloured paints and repurposed materials. Each piece I create aims to capture the essence of an idea or a place, invoking a sense of wonder and contemplation in the audience.

As an artist and a creative thinker, I am forging my own path, always seeking to push the boundaries of my craft. My passion lies in embracing new approaches and innovative thinking, as I strive to connect with and inspire as many people as possible through my art.
