All the Influences 1 is Nuala Gregory's first exploration of hand tufting. Holding to true to her signature bright colours and composition built up using geometric shapes, this series is a delightfully playful expression of Gregory's practice which has always incorporated mixed media to varying degrees. The perfect artwork for collectors who are interested in the burgeoning resurgence and appreciation of 'craft' as a high art form.
Nuala has sought a ‘return’ to the possibilities of colour, surface, collage and drawing in order to renew the force of the material and the aesthetic against predominantly discursive or conceptual approaches.
For the past 25 years, Nuala Gregory has maintained a profile as an exhibiting artist predominantly in the medium of painting, but also in printmaking and drawing. Her work has been shown in Ireland, the USA, New Zealand, Mexico, China and Japan.
Gregory is also known for her writings on contemporary art and on art education. A recipient of numerous arts grants and bursaries, she has contributed to the visual arts environment through curation, artistic collaborations, international conferences, and the enhancement of arts programmes, teaching and infrastructure in tertiary level education.
