Artist Statement
In Conscious, the calligraphic slash across the face of the painting captures a moment in time. This bold gesture, separated from the strands spilling out of the naturalistic background, symbolises the narrative of the emergence of human consciousness - all the parts interacting in dynamic timing and relationship.
