Artist Statement
This marquetry work was made by inlaying handmade paper sourced on a trip to Japan with natural wood veneers.
My marquetry is an extension of ideas expressed though previous cinematography work - taking a concept and adding form, light, texture, movement, and colour and realising these into a crafted object.
