Artist Statement
The Otherworldly Series
These photographic works, presented in a larger than life edge-to-edge format, catapult the viewer into the primordial interstices of New Zealand’s pre-human world, where plants and animals had evolved over millions of years into unique forms, filling ecological niches in unusual ways. The images invite you to enter a drenched otherworld. Read as photographic detail, super-texture or antediluvian abstraction these works are as compelling as they are timeless and could only have emerged from Aotearoa New Zealand.
