About the Artist
Suzanne Lustig
Born and raised in Utrecht, the heart of the Netherlands, Suzanne Lustig studied graphic design at the Royal Academy of Arts, The Hague.
Now in Aotearoa New Zealand, where the island vibes act as a counterpoint to the buzz of Europe, Lustig's oil pastel and Indian ink drawings blend these two cultures together.
Inspired by European art movements like COBRA, Lustig is inspired by their embrace of spontaneity, experimentation, and rejection of formal constraints. The tactility of the medium allows the artist to build depth and texture, creating layered images, rich in details.
