A depiction of the in's and outs of life’s path, A rip in the fabric of time, represented by the slab. There is also a twist to the slab, so the viewer is invited to look at the piece from both sides.

About the Artist

Lauren Kitts

Lauren Kitts has gained international recognition as a professional sculptor over the last 30 years. To date, she has attended over 25 sculpture symposia, nationally and internationally, exhibits on a regular basis, and completes commissioned works. Her inspiration is the natural world, where form, in all its myriad complexity, abounds. She also explores the connection between the material world and the “unseen”. Kitts is concerned with the nature of uncertainty, and man-made climate change, which is expressed in many of her new works. She moved to the Nelson/Tasman area 5 years ago, where she is the owner, director and sculptor of Hawks Valley Sculpture Gallery.
