A painting from a dream image, the written account lost or never in existence. Images — real and imagined — shift with each revisiting. This painting is every bit as true as the dream itself.
About the Artist
Sam Walker
I am from Ōtautahi Christchurch and studied my Bachelors and Masters in Painting in Christchurch at the Ilam School of Fine Arts. I moved to the greater Pōneke Wellington area with my partner in late 2020 upon the completion of my Masters degree. I grew up in Christchurch’s greenbelt, just outside of Halswell. A lot of my artistic sentiments are a mix of semi-rural experience and formative years skirting around a broken city centre. Both the landscape and this ‘brokenness’ is translated into literal subjects in my work.
